Voted #3 : Increasing Your WiFi Receiving Coverage (& Maybe Speed Too)

This tip might be proved to be not so effective, because I can't really test it's potential (hey, i'm being honest right?), but you should still consider this because I still think it would help in some way. What we are going to do here is that we're going to try and strengthen the wireless wave that you are receiving and how much packets of data you receive from them each time.

Step 1                        Step 2

Step 3                      Step 4

Steps :

  1. 'Open Start Menu' > 'Connect To' > 'Show all connections'
  2. Right click on the wireless connection you're using and choose 'Properties'
  3. Click 'Configure' to change settings in your wireless device
  4. On the list of items on the middle left, choose 'Roaming Aggressiveness' and 'Throughput Enhancement'
  5. Uncheck 'Use default value' and set both to high, then save all ...& done!
*Note : The wireless device I am setting is an Intel device, interface may vary for other company's devices.

If you have heard of WiMAX already, you should try it out, but it's limited to certain areas only. It's full name is 'Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access'. You can know more about it here at their website or Wikipedia.

UPDATE

  • Go to Intel website here for more details (again)
